Models, effort levels, fast mode and the advisor
You can choose which model answers, how much thinking effort to invest, and when to prefer speed. The choice affects quality, speed and cost, and the advisor helps on hard decisions.

Steps
- Get to know the models available on your plan and pick a default that suits your routine work.
- A higher effort level fits complex architecture problems; for simple tasks a lower level saves time and cost.
- Fast mode shortens response time with tradeoffs; use it for quick iterations, not fateful decisions.
- On hard or contested decisions, invoke the advisor for a second opinion before acting.
Common pitfall: Picking the strongest model for every task is wasteful; match the level to the work instead of leaving the strongest as default.
Hands-on exercise: Run the same planning question at two different effort levels and compare the answers and timing. Record when the difference justifies the cost.
