Claude Code on the web: repository, cloud environment, parallel tasks, diff and PR
Claude Code on the web runs coding tasks on Anthropic-managed cloud infrastructure at claude.ai/code, and sessions keep going after you close the browser. You can move work between terminal and cloud with --cloud and --teleport. As of this check it is a research preview for Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans with the required seats.

Steps
- Connect your GitHub account through the built-in onboarding and pick the repository the task will work on. Verify the connection targets the intended account before granting access.
- Every cloud session runs inside a preconfigured environment: network access, environment variables and setup scripts. Check what the Default environment allows before relying on it.
- Submit a task in plain language, such as a bug fix or a small feature, and watch its progress. You can keep monitoring from the mobile app.
- When the task finishes, review the diff and the PR it produced. Teleport the session back to your terminal when you want to continue locally.
Common pitfall: Do not assume a cloud session sees your local files; it works on a clone of the repository in the cloud, and anything not in git does not exist for it.
Hands-on exercise: Connect a small repository you own and ask for a simple documentation change. Follow the diff and note which permissions were requested along the way.
